Quick Answer

FLP Templates is a free collection of FL Studio project files for beginners on Windows. Each template opens directly in FL Studio and includes a starter beat pattern, mixer routing and placeholder arrangement sections built around stock FL Studio tools.

What Are FLP Templates?

FLP templates are pre-built FL Studio project files with the .flp extension that open directly in FL Studio on Windows. Unlike individual WAV samples, an FLP template contains a complete project setup — channel rack layout, mixer routing, drum patterns and arrangement blocks ready for you to customise.

For beginners, FLP templates remove the blank-page problem. Instead of setting up your project from scratch, you open a template and start modifying the existing content immediately. All elements use stock FL Studio tools so no paid plugins are required.

Inside the FLP Template Library

Each FLP template in this collection is built to give beginners on Windows a starting point that is ready to open and produce with.

  • Beat starter templates — kick, snare and hat patterns pre-programmed
  • Trap FLP — 808 bass channel, trap drum pattern, mixer routing
  • Drill FLP — sliding 808 bass, drill bounce pattern
  • Arrangement template — verse, chorus and bridge sections marked
  • Mixer routing template — separate channels for drums, bass, melody

How to Use FLP Templates in FL Studio

Go to File then Open in FL Studio on Windows and navigate to the FLP template file. Select it and click Open. The project loads with all channels, patterns and mixer setup intact. Browse the Channel Rack to see what samples are loaded. If any samples show as missing, redirect them to the included WAV files from the kit download.

Start modifying by changing the drum pattern in the Piano Roll or Step Sequencer. Replace the placeholder samples with your own WAV files by dragging new files into the Sampler channels. Add your melody and bass lines on new channels.
